One of the most beautiful cities I have visited in German is Schwerin. Virtually untouched by the second world war, it is home to some of the most beautiful historic architecture in northern Germany. Pictured here is one of my favorite castles of all time, Schweriner Schloss. The castle sits on the site of castles and fortresses that date back to the 10th century. The castle is known for its ghost named Petermännchen who stands only a few feet tall and is dressed in 17th century clothing.
